If you want a good read...A truly embarrassing book. If you want a good read about the tragic demise of a superb band and the horrors that followed try to find the book by Hank Bordowitz that came out around 1997... Bad Moon Rising - The Unauthorised account etc ...
Whilst reading it bear in mind that there are two sides to every story and we will no doubt hear something slightly different when John Fogerty finishes his autobiography - which is due for release sometime next year. Even as a CCR fanatic (and a not terribly literate 9th grader at the time), the book was a big let-down. I did not make it through to the end. I remember being very angry at the author and thinking that the vast majority of the book must have been complete bullshit--but at the same time, the book had the overall effect of tainting CCR for me. Instead of promoting the band it had the opposite effect: CCR became fallen idols and suddenly seemed un-hip to me.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02597099741995676812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3367600000263578810.post-36435629833119725532011-12-02T21:33:56.570-08:002011-12-02T21:33:56.570-08:00Sounds like one of those cash-in books published m...Sounds like one of those cash-in books published mainly for the money and aimed low, like at the lowest common denominator teenaged music fan. There must be a good CCR bio book, and if there isn't there really ought to be and a DVD too! From the Blue Velvets through the Golliwogs and into John's various projects post CCR, it'd be as thick as those bass lines on Heard It Through The Grapevine!

I grew up with a Dad whose covers band had a set list around a third of which was Creedence, plus Kustom amps and speakers based on what they used, but it all still sounds great and particularly when I hear an LP track like Ramble Tamble that didn't get a lot of attention at the time! This is what Brian Jones was digging on his last summer... if only... (sigh)Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12914898097781351084noreply@blogger.com
