I'm delighted to announce Issue #1 of this new music magazine, edited by me and out in April. It includes features on Mad River, Linda Hoyle & Affinity, David Axelrod, Montage, Fanny, Alan Betrock and the 100 most under-rated guitarists of the 60s and 70s, as well as in-depth columns and reviews, with contributions from great writers including Richie Unterberger, Aaron Milenski, David Biasotti and Patrick Lundborg.
Hello Richard
ReplyDeleteHow can i get a copy, or a subscription? Whatever?

ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks promising and with a great list of contributors too.

ReplyDeleteLaurent, I'm afraid your last message doesn't make sense to me! Orders don't get confirmation emails from Flashback because Paypal sends you a confirmation message instead. As soon as you pay with Paypal your order gets processed. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOK I was wondering because when I left the paypal site it redirected me to a page that said "an error occured so we couldn't retrieve your order number" (or something like that). So the word "error" always prompt me to ask but I received the mag and it looks great so everything is fine now. Thanks !
ReplyDeleteDespite my english reading is not sensational, i will taste this magazine that looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurent. Bon appetit!
DeleteRichard, first of all let me get the bending of the knee to your greatness over with and say that I pretty much buy anything you are associated with (Sunbeam vinyl, Galactic Ramble, Endless Trip and now Flashback #1) because I know that it will always be high quality.
ReplyDeleteMy question. When can we look for the follow up issue?
Thanks,
Brian
Brian, thanks for the kind words. Flashback #2 is currently being prepared and will be published in October. Please watch this space (or the Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/groups/252041518222971) for updates!
DeleteDear Richard,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for publishing such a great magazine including so many excellent articles. I can fully agree with Brian. I also bought lots of Sunbeam vinyl and the mentioned books as well. A must for true connoisseurs of psychedelia and singer-songwriter stuff. By the way, have you noticed that none of the well-known magazines (Mojo, Uncut, Shindig etc.) have ever released an extensive feature on David Ackles, Laura Nyro and Essra Mohawk e.g.? I really would love to read it in a future Flashback issue.
So keep on doing the good work and much success your label and the new mag!
All the Best, Dirk, Muenster, Germany, 11th july 2012.
P.S.: Can't wait for the forthcoming Kaleidoscope Singles vinyl edition.
Thanks a lot, Dirk. I am also a fan of Laura Nyro, Essra Mohawk and David Ackles, and am planning a feature about neglected singer-songwriters for a future issue. Cheers!
